BOIGON LOFT
|
NEW YORK, NY
The host building's construction materials and structural methods suggested the themes for this renovation. Massive oak beams and columns form the basic structure, reinforced with cast iron column capitals and connectors. The renovation included a new glass and steel mezzanine suspended from the existing structure and integrated into the original cast iron detailing. A new ceiling was carefully integrated into the existing sloping roof beams, maintaining a level surface within each formed coffer. Solid bronze was used for the entry, railings, partitions and fireplace panels. |
